Worthing Thunder is delighted to welcome back Brighton-based guard Tom Ward for the upcoming NBL Division 1 season.
Tom returns to Thunder for his fifth season with the club, having signed initially in the 2013-14 season.
In between his time at Worthing, Tom spent a season in Spain playing for Canarias and Tenerife before returning to the South Coast where he has played for the last three seasons.
Last season, Tom averaged 6.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 15 games played.
Tom commented: “I’m proud and excited to continue to be a part of this organisation, and believe we can bring another championship to the most deserving fans in the league.”
Player-coach Josh Goddard added: “Being able to bring back a player of Tom’s quality is amazing. He played a huge role in our championship run last season not only with his physical talent and skill set but also his knowledge and leadership on and off the court.
“It’s a great bonus that he will able to play away games this season, something that we definitely missed last year and I look forward to seeing how much more we can improve as a team.”
Tom will feature in Thunder’s first game of the season, a pre-season friendly against USA Select on Saturday, September 1st with a 7pm tip.
