Worthing Thunder continued their impressive start to the season with an 86-79 victory over Reading Rockets in front of another packed house at Worthing Leisure Centre in a tight first quarter where neither side could command any significant lead. Thunder went into the break leading by a solitary point (28-28). Status quo continued until half time with both teams returning to the locker room and the lead switched to Reading ahead 44 – 43.

However it was Reading that came out fighting in the third quarter, extending their lead to as many as 10 points. Thunder rallied throughout the remainder of the quarter to claw back the lead; ending the quarter 58 – 58.

In the last quarter, cheered on by increasingly enthusiastic and noisy crowd, Thunder were determined to secure another victory and saw the game home to a comfortable  86 – 79 victory.

The match was sponsored by Julian Wilkins & Co. who selected Zaire Taylor as their Man of the Match.

Top scorers were Alex Owumi and Zaire Taylor both with 22 points, Brendan Okoronkwo with 18 points, Tom Ward with 10 points and Ishmael Fontaine and Kevin Moyo with 7 points each.
