Bradford Dragons v Worthing Thunder (National Trophy Semi Final)
Thunder made the long trip to Yorkshire for the third time this season and in a hard fought game came away with a good win which sees the southerners into the final. At times it threatened to boil over as Bradford gave their all in the attempt to qualify but Thunder kept their heads to bring the win home.
Led by the influential Zaire Taylor whose experience of the big time was a factor as the game swung back and forth until Thunder pulled away in the third quarter. A close first half saw Thunder lead by just five points at the break but an excellent third period saw Thunder pull away to make the game look safe at the final break. Bradford though had other ideas as their physical tactics pulled them back into the game with just a couple of minutes remaining. Thunder held firm and as we began to run the clock down they were forced to foul sending us to the free throw line to ice the win 89-82. For Thunder everyone once again played their part with the impressive Zaire Taylor finishing the game in style hitting a vital trey and being solid from the charity stripe.
