Worthing Thunder today announce that the club will be releasing Kevin Moyo from his playing contract.

Moyo has played all 20 league games this season and his lightning speed (which has earned him the nickname “Flash”) along with his defensive intensity and playmaking ability have contributed to some impressive performances in a Thunder vest.

Kevin will be missed on court as Thunder enter the final six games of the league season currently standing at the top of the league. The club would like to thank Kevin for the time he has spent with Worthing and wish him nothing but future success as he seeks to further his career by playing abroad in Italy.

Director of Basketball Zaire Taylor said “Kevin’s court performances will be tough to replace but I see it as an opportunity for the remainder of the squad to step up. I am happy for Kevin as I know it has always been a dream for him to play abroad and I am glad we can help him achieve it. As much as it is our duty to win games we also feel we have a responsibility to players to help them further their career and achieve their ambitions.

Kevin Moyo replied “ I was very torn about the decision to leave Thunder but after speaking with Zaire he was extremely supportive of the opportunity I have and I realised I had to chase my dreams. I loved my time at Worthing and I am grateful for the opportunity the club has given me. What I will miss most is the support from the fans and playing at the Thunderdome.
