Worthing Thunder are pleased to announce last seasons player coach Josh Goddard will be returning to Thunder
After a stellar debut season as Coach last year, Josh will be stepping back relinquishing his whole coaching duties for the upcoming season and focus just on playing
In Josh’s first year as a Player/Coach he led Thunder to the Trophy championship, playoff finals, tied for the best record in the league, and an upset win against a BBL club Surrey Scorchers, with his proven leadership he will be named team captain.
Director of basketball Zaire Taylor Commented: “ I think the value that Josh has brought to the team over the last two season been significantly under appreciated. I honestly don’t think we could have won any of the titles we have these last two seasons without him. A guy that steps into and embraces any role the club needs from him, always putting the team first.”
Josh commented: “Coaching the team last season, was an amazing opportunity. It was also a great learning experience unfortunately rules this season don’t permit me to be a player/Coach forcing me to make a decision and I chose playing, I feel by stepping back from coaching I will be able to give the team better production on the court as I did the season before”
