He is back……Worthing Thunder are delighted to announce the return of fan’s favourite and last seasons British Player of the year Jorge Ebanks for the upcoming NBL Division 1 season.
Jorge was part of the winning play-off team last season, averaging 15.7 points and 4.9 assists a game.
Ebanks had previous spells with Tees Valley Mohawks in the NBL Division 1,and in the 2016/17 season played for Solent Kestrels where he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-British NBL Division One Honorable Mention.
Previous to this he played at Hannover Korbjaeger (Regionalliga) in German league where in 11 games he averaged 8.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.8apg and played along side Thunders Ishmael Fontaine, he also had spells with London Lions and Cheshire Phoenix in the British Basketball League.
Among other achievements Ebanks won Cayman Islands CIBA championship title in 2011. He received also Eurobasket.com All-British EBL Division One Defensive Player of the Year award back in 2014.
He has a double citizenship as he also holds British passport.

He played a central role in the team last year, and proved he’s a veteran who can step up to whatever demands are placed upon him, as well as being a fan favourite. I’m looking forward to having Jorge back in practice and the added energy he’ll bring to the team.”
Jorge will make his debut when Thunder face Team Newcastle on Saturday 27th October
