Thunder Re-Sign League’s Top 3-Point Threat Malachi Boakye-Yiadom
Worthing Thunder are excited to announce the return of Malachi Boakye-Yiadom, the league’s most efficient three-point shooter heading into the new season.
Boakye-Yiadom made an immediate impact in his first season with the club, quickly earning a reputation as a highly effective two-way player. Defensively, he brought energy, versatility, and toughness. Offensively, he was lethal from beyond the arc—finishing the season with the second-highest three-point shooting percentage in the league. With the league’s top shooter not joining the BCB this year, Boakye-Yiadom now enters the season as the #1 returning long-range marksman in the division.
Malachi Boakye-Yiadom shared his excitement about rejoining the team:
“I feel there’s some unfinished business from last season, and I can’t wait to get started with this squad. First and foremost, I want to thank God. The Worthing fans have deserved silverware for a long time, and I’m excited to help bring it home this season.”
Head Coach Gary Smith also spoke highly of the young guard:
“I’ve had the privilege of coaching Malachi previously and I’m glad to be working with him again. He did a great job establishing himself in the league as one of its top shooters, but I’m even more excited about unlocking other elements of his game that I know he’s capable of. As a young player, I’m looking forward to the strides he’s going to take this season—and I know our fanbase will enjoy watching his development.”
Boakye-Yiadom’s return adds another major piece to Worthing Thunder’s pursuit of a championship, as the team continues to build a balanced and hungry roster for the upcoming campaign.
