Junior Basketball

In addition to our National League sessions and camps, we also run a number of drop-in basketball sessions for children.

Here’s what’s on offer:

🏀 Tuesdays – Our popular U10s sessions continue.

🏀 Wednesdays – NEW! Community basketball sessions for 8–14 year olds, giving even more young people the chance to learn, improve and enjoy the game.

🏀 Wednesdays – Mini Ballers for children aged 3–6. A fun introduction to basketball through games, movement and skill-building.

🏀 Thursdays – Player Development Sessions led by Ishmael Fontaine alongside our Thunder American imports. These sessions are focused on individual player development, helping National League players improve their skills, decision-making and overall performance.

🏀 Fridays – Our popular community drop-in sessions continue with updated age groups.

Whether you’re picking up a basketball for the first time or looking to develop your game, we’ve got a session for you.

Worthing Thunder regularly run half term and school holiday camps for kids aged 5-16, looking for a fun way to develop their basketball skills. All the major school holidays are covered, including half-terms, Easter, Summer and Christmas camps.

Your son or daughter will be taught by qualified coaches, many of which will be your favourite players from the Men’s team. A great way to learn, make new friends and keep them active and off their screens during the school holidays.

We run regular camps for all abilities, plus Elite camps for those kids playing at the National League level.

Worthing Thunder has a thriving junior basketball programme, with teams competing at Premier and Conference levels in the National League.

For the 2026/27 season, we’ll have teams at:

• U12 Mixed
• U14 Boys
• U16 Boys
• U18 Boys

Fixtures typically run from October to March, with Juniors trials usually held in June. Training sessions are held throughout the week at Durrington High School in Worthing.

We’re proud that each year, many Thunder Juniors get the opportunity to participate in Basketball England’s talent pathway, Aspire.
